Harare has a date. On Saturday 31 October, Kingfisher Park hosts the first Old School Throwback Festival — a sixteen-hour celebration of the music, food and culture of the 1990s and early 2000s, running from 8am until midnight.
The festival is built around three worlds of sound on one open-air stage. Golden-era Old School RnB and Hip Hop opens the day. Reggae Dancehall Throwback carries the afternoon. House, Urban Grooves and Afrobeats close out the night. Over forty acts are confirmed, including Tich Mataz, StanSplash, Davies Mugadza, Tony Friday and Jackie B — names that shaped radio and the dancefloor in that era.
The event grew out of the weekly Old School Thursday and Saturday Sessions, which have drawn a loyal Harare crowd of around 600 people a night. This is that same crowd, outdoors and at scale.
"There has been nothing out there for this audience," organisers say. "People who love this music but have outgrown the club scene. We are building a day for them."
Beyond the music, the grounds will carry throwback games, heritage brand stalls, old school fashion and food from official partners.
Early bird general admission starts at USD 5, with VIP at USD 25, VVIP at USD 50, and reserved tables for groups of six, eight and ten. Prices rise in phases as the date approaches.
Tickets are available now at throwback.co.zw and arrive instantly on WhatsApp and email with a QR code.
